Meet the Management Team

Cornhusker Bank understands we are in the people business. We know your experience starts with the first contact you have with one of our teammates. Our management team has over 135 years in collective banking experience, with various other business acumens in their past experience. The senior management team includes the following:

John F. Dittman 

John F. Dittman, Executive Chairman

John has a 25 year history with Cornhusker Bank and was named President/CEO in 1997. He assumed the position of Chairman of the board in 2008. The Dittman family’s Cornhusker Bank legacy dates back to 1948 when George A. Frampton, John’s grandfather purchased controlling interest in the bank, formerly named Farmers State Bank. John is actively involved in the day to day management of Cornhusker Bank. He earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska and an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg graduate School of management at Northwestern University. He worked for Norwest Corporation in Omaha and Northern Trust Corporation in Chicago prior to joining Cornhusker Bank. John serves or has served on numerous community organization boards, including Bryan Medical Center, Nebraska Bankers Association, Lincoln Public Schools Foundation, Junior Achievement, and Lincoln Community Foundation. 

Barry J. Lockard 

Barry J. Lockard, President/CEO

Barry joined Cornhusker Bank in November of 2006. Prior to that time his business background included time at Black and Decker, where he helped launch the DeWalt power tool line, Cincinnati Bell as the worldwide account manager for Microsoft and a banking career at a large regional bank in Omaha. In late 2003 he started his own consulting company that provided assistance to banks and insurance companies focused on enhancing business development and operational efficiencies. In 2006, after serving in a consulting role at Cornhusker Bank, he was asked to join the bank full time. Barry serves as President and Chief Executive Officer and is a member of the Board of Directors of the bank and its holding company. Barry’s passion is focused on growing both people and businesses. He believes in investing in talent development and developing leaders. Mr. Lockard has volunteered as a youth sports coach for many years and has served on several boards in Lincoln, including Lincoln Teammates, Chair of the American Heart Association Heart Walk, Lincoln Christian School Board and Foundation Board, Leadership Resources Advisory Board, Campus Life/YFC, YMCA youth coach, and others. He also served as a member of the Nebraska Army National Guard, served on the Nebraska Bankers Association Board of Directors and is a former board member of the American Bankers Association Community Bankers council. He is also a former faculty member at the Colorado Graduate School of Banking. Mr. Lockard is also the Nebraska member representative elected to serve on the board of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka from January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2022.

Kevin Deaver 

Kevin Deaver, Executive Vice President

Kevin possesses more than 35 years of bank management experience and has been with Cornhusker Bank since 2000. He has completed numerous bank training courses and schools including the Nebraska/Kansas Schools of Banking and the Graduate School of Banking in Colorado. He holds security and insurance licenses. Kevin is a Certified Financial Planner and provides financial planning and wealth management services for clients. He is a member of the Nebraska Financial Planning Association and is involved in the Nebraska Bankers Association. He is a member of the business team at Lincoln Berean Church.  

David Shiffermiller 

David Shiffermiller, Executive Vice President/Lending

David (Dave) joined Cornhusker Bank in March of 2008, but has been in the banking industry since 1984. He is a graduate of Ainsworth High School, University of Nebraska, and Pacific Coast Graduate School of Banking. He has completed numerous training courses and schools sponsored by Nebraska Banker’s Association as well as NBA/KBA Schools of Banking. Dave has previously held Nebraska Real Estate sales, broker’s and appraiser licenses. Dave has served on various committees for both NBA and NBA/KBA Schools of Banking and has served on numerous community non-profit boards including Leadership Lincoln, Nebraska Brass, Nebraska Jazz, and M.A.D. Dads. Dave is a member of Downtown Lincoln Rotary Club 14 and volunteers for Teammates, Gathering Place and Fallbrook YMCA. Dave also volunteers as presenter for the local SCORE chapter Small Business Workshop seminars. Dave and his wife, Joy, are active members and volunteers of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.  

Crystal Wichita 

Crystal Wichita, Chief Operating Officer

Crystal has over 20 years of experience in the banking and technology industry and has been with Cornhusker Bank since 2009. Her responsibilities include overseeing the bank’s Technology Operations, Deposit Operations, Engagement Center and Facility Operations. She is a graduate of Doane College and the Graduate School of Banking’s Bank Technology Management School. Crystal is a Leadership Lincoln alumnus and has been an active member of the Emerging Leaders group as part of her work for United Way. She also serves on the Nebraska State Records Board. She participates in many community volunteer opportunities through her church and Lincoln Public Schools. 

Perry Haralson 

Perry Haralson, Chief Financial Officer and Director of Compliance

Perry supervises the team responsible for reconciling, reporting, accounting, profitability, and the financial/statistical modeling for the bank. He also oversees the Bank Secrecy Act team, regulatory liaison, and overall regulatory compliance team of the bank. He has been with Cornhusker Bank since 2003 and served as a branch manager and commercial/construction loan officer prior to moving into the financial and compliance operations leadership role. He is a graduate of the School of Banking at Colorado, the Financial Managers School at the University of Wisconsin, holds an MBA specialized in Financial Management, and a Business Administration degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Perry teaches multiple banking courses for the Schools of Banking in Nebraska, Kansas, South Dakota and North Dakota. He is also on the faculty of the Graduate School of Banking in Colorado. 

Sherla Post 

Sherla Post, Executive Vice President/Human Resources - Talent Development

Sherla began her journey in Human Resources, Benefits Administration, Coaching and leadership in 1978. Her tenure with Cornhusker Bank dates to 2006. Her broad responsibility is to develop and manage Human Resource policies, procedures and programs, as well as handle direction of all talent based efforts including selection, learning, and development efforts. Sherla is SPHR, SHRM-SCP certified in Human Resources management, and has graduated from the Graduate School of Banking -Human Resource Management School. She is an NBA Education Committee member and a member of the, Greater Lincoln Workforce Development Board, the NE Safety Wellness Council committee, the Society of Human Resource Management, Lincoln Human Resources Management Association and Tabitha, Inc Intergen Steering Committee member. Sherla recently served as a board of director for Tabitha Inc as well. 

Carissa Bullock 

Carissa Bullock, Vice President/Marketing

Carissa has served the bank as Vice President of marketing since February of 2007. She earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from UNL in 2001. Prior to joining Cornhusker Bank she held marketing positions at two national organizations/companies. She is a member of the American Marketing Association and American Bankers Association Marketing Network. Carissa is on the board of Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln and the Lincoln East Booster Board. She is a past member of the Inspire Awards Advisory Committee, Leadership Lincoln Executive alumnus and is an active member in her church. Carissa is a driving force in raising shoes and funding through the bank’s One Day Without Shoes event for the benefit of People’s City Mission and Stephen Center.

Audrie Bates 

Audrie Bates, Vice President/Retail Experience

Audrie has been working in the financial services industry since 1988. Barry Lockard, President/CEO, reported, “The utilization of Audrie’s knowledge adds great value to the bank. Her relationship management skills assist both our associates and our customers in maintaining a 360 degree view of all retail products and services.” Audrie’s service as President of the Lincoln Boys Choir Board of Directors, active involvement at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church (Endowment Committee and Vitality Task Force) and member of the American Legion Post #244 Women’s Auxiliary (Ceresco) are just a few of the ways she displays her commitment to our community.

David Nuismer 

David Nuismer, Chief Credit Officer

David (Dave) has been with Cornhusker Bank since 2010. His role on the Senior Management Team as Chief Credit Officer finds him responsible for overall management of the Bank’s credit administration, underwriting and loan review and analysis functions and support staff in those areas. Dave graduated from the University of Nebraska/Lincoln. He has served as a volunteer for organizations including the United Way, Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, Lancaster County American Red Cross, Junior Achievement, and People’s City Mission.

Greg Dittman 

Greg Dittman, VP/Strategic Development

Greg began his involvement in the banking industry in 2018 where he served as a safety and soundness bank examiner for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Greg holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of NE, Lincoln and earned his law degree from the Nebraska College of Law. Additionally, he is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a licensed attorney. Apart from his work, Greg is also involved in various Nebraska organizations and serves on the board of NHRI Leadership Mentoring and America's Great Stories. He loves Husker sports and helping Nebraska communities in any way he can.
